EASYLINK LAUNCHES MAILWATCH VERSION 4.0
– Outsourced Virus, Spam and Content Filtering Solution Improved with 100% Throughput Gain and McAfee Partnership –
EDISON, NJ – August 13, 2001- EasyLink Services Corporation (NASDAQ: EASY), a leading global provider of outsourced messaging services to enterprises and service providers, announced today that it has launched version 4.0 of its MailWatch Service, its outsourced anti-virus, spam, and content filtering solution.
A highly developed solution, MailWatch 4.0 delivers increased throughput and scalability to cost effectively address customer growth. EasyLink MailWatch 4.0 also integrates industry-leading anti-virus software from McAfee, a division of Network Associates (NASDAQ: NETA), to stop known viruses and malicious codes from entering enterprise networks via e-mail. For example, MailWatch has already intercepted over 200,000 instances of the current “Sircam” virus since its initial outbreak on July 19. Using EasyLink’s own software technology, MailWatch also filters offensive e-mail material, blocks unwanted spam and “junk e-mail,” controls oversized attachments and protects against denial of service attacks that can interrupt productivity.
My spin: If you don’t want to bother with manually installing virus protection software and updating it, an outsourced solution just as that from Easylink may be an answer!
