ZD Net: How many of your IT resources go to moving data and personal settings from one PC to another? A coalition of hardware and
software makers–including Intel, IBM, Microsoft–want to ease the pain of data migration. The group’s long-term plan is to create a set of standards that let all PC makers offer software to catalog existing data and shuttle it over. My spin: If this is true, then I really hope this happens and happens soon…but my question is will it really work and if it does work will it work easily and without corrupting data?
