way servers to ultra-thin plasma TVs — Gateway, Inc. today launches its expanded channel program.
Gateway ProNet(SM) brings together IT value-added resellers (VARs) and professional audio-video (pro-AV) integrators to integrate Gateway’s growing front- and back-office business product lines for customers. Gateway’s customer base includes many of the world’s leading enterprises, small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), government agencies and educational institutions. The launch of Gateway ProNet is a critical component of Gateway’s go-to-market strategy as the company launches more than 50 new products in 15 different categories through the end of 2003, including both
traditional IT offerings and digital electronics products with business applications.
VARs and pro-AV resellers joining ProNet benefit from competitive margins, joint-selling opportunities, an assigned channel manager and preferred technical support. Other elements of the program, which will be released through the duration of Q4, include training, an extranet web site with sales and marketing tools, regular communications and access to Gateway’s Technology Lifecycle Services — allowing partners to create highly specific solutions for business customers, including asset recovery, custom tagging, unique imaging and more
To be flexible for the various types of value-added resellers in the market today, ProNet is divided into four tracks — commercial, referral, government and education. Commercial ProNet members, who are those organizations geared toward enterprises and SMBs, are eligible for “Member” or “Premier” status, which is dictated by sales targets. Premier members earn greater margins and other benefits, such as an assigned Gateway executive sponsor. ProNet is complimentary to the Gateway’s existing NSP (Network Service Provider) program, by which Gateway-branded service professionals assist direct-sales representatives with business customers.
