NEW YORK – How do you convince the 30 million Palm users who have a cell phone to ditch the two devices for the all-in-one Treo 600? Joe Sipher, vice president of marketing and carriers at PalmOne, is trying to figure that out.
His mission is not new. Handspring, now part of PalmOne (nasdaq: PLMO – news – people ), has been striving for the perfect phone-PDA synthesis since 2001, but both its VisorPhone and its original Treo failed to become a must-have gadget.
