News Clip: The merger-and-acquisition trend in the enterprise-software space continues to build momentum as the markets pick up. Best Software, a subsidiary of The Sage Group, has announced an agreement to purchase Computer Associates subsidiary Accpac. The transaction will take place for US$110 million in cash, and the companies expect it to be complete by the end of February.
The move comes as no surprise to those who found Accpac and Computer Associates to be strange bedfellows. “Accpac didn’t fit in with Computer Associates’ line,” Green Beacon Solutions CEO Ben Holtz told CRMDaily.com. “It’s too low-end.” (full story)
