SAP Provides New Solutions for Small and Midsize Businesses Through Launch of Solution Partner Program

My spin: Once a software vendor makes their core product offerings, if they want to expand their solution, creating a base of developers to extend and develop additional applications is important. This not only brings in additional revenue for the vendor, possibly, but gives businesses more of a reason to use the vendor’s application.
Intuit’s, Intuit Developer Network, is doing well and of course the entire industry of Microsoft developers creating applications for Windows operating systems and for Microsoft Office is the best proof yet.
SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) today announced the launch of the SAP(R) Business One Solution Partner Program, a global network of certified partners that will develop new capabilities and product extensions for SAP Business One. SAP Business One is a powerful and easy-to-use business management solution for small and midsize businesses (SMBs). Under the two-tier program, solution partners and premium solution partners will develop applications that add new business processes and industry-specific functionality to SAP Business One solutions. The new functionality — ranging from Internet sales, reporting and logistics to advanced warehousing, customer relationship management (CRM) and data management — will tightly integrate with the product’s core business automation capabilities to ensure ease of implementation, ease of use and cost effectiveness.(full story)
