Competition heats up for RIM’s BlackBerry

My spin: As reported by Good Technology has released an updated version of its software product that enables enhanced wireless email access on mobile devices. While RIM is great, companies are locked into RIM hardware and software. Good enables compaies to use whatever hardware they want using Good Technology’s software.
GoodLink 3.0 service can more easily open e-mail attachments, allows for multitasking and more clearly shows calendar conflicts, among other features.
“We’re not trying to say that this is a replacement for laptops, we’re trying to extend the power of the laptop,” said Sue Forbes, Good’s vice president of product marketing. “We definitely do have cases where people may be leaving that laptop at home; they would have to worry about airport security.”
