Well, two giants of affiliate marketing have joined….
Two pioneers in the online performance marketing arena, Be Free and Commission Junction, have decided to unite their companies under a single brand, and have selected the Commission Junction name to represent the unified entity. The Commission Junction brand will continue to reflect the unique characteristics of each company by focusing on its combined technical strength and service commitment to high quality performance marketing solutions. Be Free and Commission Junction were merged in December 2003 when Be Free’s parent company ValueClick (Nasdaq: VCLK) acquired Commission Junction.

Historically, both Be Free and Commission Junction have made significant contributions to the growth in online marketing, particularly in affiliate marketing and most recently in search. Be Free focused primarily on providing customized solutions targeting large retail clients, while Commission Junction built a broad network of more than 1200 advertisers in numerous industries and tens of thousands of publishers.
Under the combined entity, the companies’ complementary proprietary technologies will be integrated on a single collaboration platform that will continue to meet the needs of the growing pay-for-performance market. Existing products and services will remain fully operational and supported as the two companies complete the integration of their operations.
