Sarbox is brining workflow, and the tools used to document it, back to the fore of I.T. priorities, says Jason Averbook, director of global human capital management with PeopleSoft. “Sarbanes-Oxley calls upon companies to ensure that one division is not doing something one way and another doing it another way.”
The compliance dates for the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (now going by the buzzword “Sarbox”) are fast approaching. Under the legislation, company executives must be able to certify that their financial statements are accurate and complete. In addition, they must be able to demonstrate that the internal controls they have in place to regulate their financials are identifiable, dependable, and transparent. (full story)
