Federal Express and UPS are in a see-saw battle to ensure their respective shipping tools are seamlessly embedded in the programs (online and offline) programs that small businesses use. It’s one thing to have low prices and market, but if these couriers embed their services, especially with exclusive deals, into various services more small businesses will use them by default. Why switch over to FEDEX for example, if you can more easily ship with UPS since it’s embedded in Quickbooks or Yahoo Store?
Washington Post writes UPS has reached a deal with Yahoo! Inc. to make it easier for shippers to process orders, track packages and calculate costs online.
