TrendMicro announced today “New Web Traffic Security Offering Combines Gateway Antivirus, Anti-Phishing, Anti-Spyware, and URL Filtering Capabilities”
As spam, viruses, spyware and other attacks increase offerings like TrendMicro and others are more important.
TrendMicro’s Bob Hansmann, Sr. Product Marketing Manager for Trend Micro answers some questions from smallbiztechnology:
When business are looking for security solutions, what are some guidelines they can consider? There’s so many vendors offering these types of solutions?
Particularly mobile users need to consider anti-virus firewall as well as sypware and adware threats. However managing even this short list of solutions if provided from different vendors cerates a significant challenge for IT. OSCS 6.0 has been designed to provide a single platform for management by IT and security for the end user to address these threats.
Should this product be considered a firewall?
How well does it integrate with products from other vendors?
Trend Micro OfficeScan integrates with Checkpoint and Cisco solutions for policy enforcement to provide flexibility to the 1-2 percent of corporate users that may require extremely complex firewall configuration. The OfficeScan enterprise client firewall may be selectively disabled, but is recommended to be utilized as a part of the software suite.

Trend Micro InterScan Web Security Suite v2.0 now offers improved Internet gateway security for Web users with new capabilities for anti-phishing, anti-spyware, and URL filtering.
