Dollar Rent A Car LISTENS to its online customers

What excites me is when companies LISTEN to their customers and redesign their web sites or improve some other technology to benefit their customers.
Dollar Rent A Car, a subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE:DTG) , has made the company’s award-winning Web site, dollar.com, easier than ever for customers to book a DOLLAR(R) rental car.
With just two clicks of the mouse from the dollar.com home page, customers can make or modify their reservation, as well as view their rate, including total estimated charges. Customers can also obtain a list of detailed rate information such as taxes, fees and surcharges.
In addition, another customer-friendly enhancement on dollar.com’s home page is the car finder, where customers can immediately compare different car types and features from around the globe.
“Dollar has continually provided the online customer with the best possible reservation experience, and will continue to do so by constantly adapting the site to meet the needs of existing and potential online customers,” Charlie Coniglio, DOLLAR staff vice president, marketing, said.
Coniglio added, dollar.com has achieved substantial growth in a relatively short amount of time. “In 2002, 18 percent of DOLLAR reservations came in via dollar.com. Currently, more than 30 percent of our reservations come in through the dollar.com site. The numbers tell us that our customers are having a positive online reservation experience and they are coming back to book on dollar.com.”
For Dollar Rent A Car reservations or for more information, customers can log onto http://www.dollar.com/ , home of Dollar’s lowest rates, or can call the reservations number at 1-800-800-4000.
