I’ve had an ongoing problem with making a wireless print server from D-Link work. For some reason I can print a test page from the configuration utility but when the IP address is changed from the default IP to the IP address of my router nothing appears to work right.
I’m sure there’s something I’m doing wrong. In any case I called D-Link’s tech support last Friday afternoon, pressed ONE prompt on the telephone menu and was instantly connected to a friendly VERY knowledgeable support representative.
Is D-Link perfect? Probably not. However, I will exclusively D-Link products in the future as I know that when there is a problem their support team is going to be there.
Tech vendors, selling to SMBs will have a very hard time differentiating their product on price and features, but support can be a HUGE sales incentive.
