The Service Core of Retired Executives is one of the best places a small business person can go to get help launch or growing their business. Palo Alto Software, makers of Business Plan Pro, has made SCORE counselors do their job event better by providing business planning software free for use by all 389 SCORE chapters.
What a marketing coup for Palo Alto Software.
One of the very important things that SCORE counselors push every business to have is a business plan. As SCORE “clients” get help and see the Business Plan software in use by SCORE counselors, they are going to want to use it for their business too – right? Well they’re going to go out and buy it for their business.
SCORE, “Counselors to America’s Small Business,” is home to more than 10,500 volunteer counselors who provide individual counseling and business workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners. Counselors work with entrepreneurs through every phase of their entrepreneurial venture: generating and assessing ideas, preparing a business plan, raising capital and managing the operations and finances of the growing venture.
SCORE and Palo Alto Software will display each other’s Web site links on their Web sites. Palo Alto will add a “SCORE Finder” on its Web site to connect visitors with local SCORE chapters. SCORE will establish a link in its “Business Toolbox” to Palo Alto’s sample business plans and financial calculators.
“The numbers speak for themselves at SCORE. The association is currently home to over 10 thousand counselors and has provided 7 million Americans with small business advice and strategy,” said Tim Berry, president and CEO of Palo Alto Software. “Palo Alto Software is pleased to be donating to an organization with a mission so similar to our own — Do everything you can to get a small business off the ground. We are looking forward to having all of SCORE’s present and future clients using Business Plan Pro.”
