Joe Mansueto is now the owner of two great magazines focused on growing businesses: Fast Company and Inc. Like many other magazines, their advertising pages are down but these magazines have two things that are so vital.
1) A VERY loyal audience
2) A very SMART audience of business owners, entrepreneurs and social capitalists.
The New York Times reports that the editor in chief of Fast Company, John A. Byrne, is leaving to become executive editor of BusinessWeek magazine.
I am not sure how bad an omen this is, but I hope it is only a sign of better things to come.
