Network Solutions, one of the leading Internet services companies was in NYC this week for a marketing show with IndyCar Series rookie of the year, Danica Patrick and talk show host, Tony Danza. I usually don’t write about event promotions but I think this one was pretty nice how Network Solutions did it.
I also think how Network Solutions has rebranded their company, from a boring “tech” company into a fun “solutions” company has been done very well. They’ll need everything they can do, to compete against GoDaddy.com’s low price and good customer support and Register.com’s ease of use.
Network Solutions writes – Champ Mitchell, Chairman and CEO of Network Solutions, was on hand to welcome the crowds, present Danica Patrick with the winner’s circle race jacket and receive a proclamation from New York City Deputy Commissioner of Small Business Services, Mark Newhouse. The proclamation, signed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, declared October 20, 2005 “New York City Small Business Day,” in recognition of Network Solutions event encouraging small businesses to “race to Network Solutions” to drive their business online.
“Small businesses are the fastest growing segment of the Internet, thanks to the increased popularity of local search in helping people go online to find the products and services they want,” said Champ Mitchell, chairman and CEO of Network Solutions. “In 2005, small businesses are expected to spend more than $1.2 billion on Web site development alone. Network Solutions is committed to helping our customers determine the right Web solutions to meet their business needs and providing the products and services to help them easily establish their online presence.”
“The ‘Race to Network Solutions’ sweepstakes and promotion positions Network Solutions as the industry leader that is helping to demystify marketing on the Web for small businesses,” said Jeff Grosman, senior vice president of Marketing for Network Solutions. “The new look, feel and focus of Network Solutions is to make it easy and affordable for people to establish and grow their businesses online.”
