IBM is truly a company that a businesses can turn to, to solve business problems. Retailers really love IBM.
For example, IBM reports in a recent press release that New Jersey-based, Campmor Inc., one of the largest outdoor specialty equipment retailer boosted its consumers e-commerce experience by working with IBM and Tachyon Solutions who helped the company deploy innovative product search capabilities that enable customers to access merchandise much faster, place orders and fulfill transactions with sub-second response times
Prior to the implementation, customers who visited the Campmor site frequently abandoned carts before making a purchase indicating difficulty in locating appropriate products. As a result, Campmor has seen a 35 percent increase in online sales within a year, driving 70 percent of the company’s revenue. The new solution is powered by WebSphere Commerce, DB2 and eServer iSeries.
* Picadilly Fashions, a Toronto-based retailer (women apparel), has transformed its business into a successful B2B ordering facility with the adoption of an integrated e-commerce solution from IBM and SilverBlaze Solutions that has enabled them to automate their business operations. As a result of the joint IBM/Silverblaze solution, Picadilly Fashions has seen a 25 percent increase in sales through repeat business from existing customers. In addition to establishing a successful Internet presence, Picadilly Fashions can process customer orders at 60 percent faster speeds by automating manual tasks. The company has also cut order processing time from an average of 15 minutes to 5 minutes by adopting a self-service approach to ordering.
This is the latest example of IBM’s work with its ecosystem of business partners, more than 1,300 solution providers in the retail sector, to drive innovative technology for e-commerce.
