It’s not news that you should be backing up your data, but it so important that it’s worth a reminder. There are so many options available, both hardware and web based, that there is no excuse not to do it.
Another option is the new Autosave Essentials from Avanquest Software. It runs in the background on your computer and backs up any new or recently changed files to any storage device or location that you specify. If you don’t want the program to run in the background (maybe you have an older computer, or are running other programs that are using a lot of processor bandwidth) you can set backups to be run at certain times or only when you start up your system. If your designated external storage device is not connected, the program will log any required backups and transfer the files as soon as the device is reconnected.
