Promote Security Awareness In Your Company

Thumbnail image for computersecurity.jpgIf you’ve been trying and trying to get employees in your office to be more aware of security, check out the Cyber Security Exchange where you can download posters and images promoting security.
The Cyber Exchange houses free security awareness tools from around the world, designed to be used by any organization or individual that wishes to promote online safety at work or within their community. It can also serve as a support tool for private and public sector organizations required to meet cyber security awareness training requirements under directives such as the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
Good security is comprised of hardened networks, great passwords, biometrics, anti-virus software and more. However, on the other hand, the BEST security is by training your staff in how to better secure their own environments. Kevin Mitnick, famous hacker, who was jailed for hacking and now has own security company, writes in his book, “The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security” that many of his hacking exploits were not successful due to his technical expertise but due to his social engineering skills. Sweet talking people into revealing their passwords.
