Whether you create products, create content or sell services your customers want more from you than just what you sell. They also want your expertise.
For example, maybe you’re a web site developer and create great web sites. Sure your customers want to buy your web site design services, but they also want your advice in how to get MORE from their web sites.
Maybe you sell cakes. Customers don’t want to just by cakes from you, they also want your expertise in how to better plan for their next party and other events requiring your services.
Creating blogs and Tweeting all day is great – you are dispensing great information. However, you might also want to consider premium content that your customers can subscribe to and pay a monthly fee for.
Putting this content together is hard enough, but the other challenge is how to pull this content together and sell it.
At South by South West (SXSW 2011) one of the exhibitors I saw, who can help with this is Bloomfire. Their platform helps you bring together video, screen shots and more and sell them together in an online ecosystem of premium content. You can also bring in other contributors and have your own private social network.
