About our Speakers
As Blue Fountain Media’s Chief Content Officer, Jon Gelberg
works closely with all departments, helping to hone much of the written and verbal communications produced by the company. He also serves as the company’s primary press liaison.
Gelberg is a regular contributor to the Yahoo! Advertising blog and is a guest columnist for YoungEntrepreneur.com.
He honed his communications skills as a journalist, winning more than 20 national, state and regional journalism awards. He has been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors, the Professional Football Writers of America, The Society of Professional Journalists and many other organizations.
Gelberg left journalism in the late 90s to enter the digital world. As LuxuryFinder.com’s executive vice president, he handled all communications duties for the web’s first e-commerce luxury portal, then went on to Marquis Who’s Who, where he was Senior Managing Director for Special Projects.
Educated at Brandeis University and Columbia University’s School of Law, Gelberg’s eclectic resume includes stints as a lawyer (specializing in First Amendment issues) and as a stand-up comedian.
Arthur Germain brings more than 20 years of corporate communications, public relations agency, and business and technology editorial experience to work for clients in the technology and professional services markets. Arthur founded Communication Strategy Group to offer a unique blend of boutique firm responsiveness with senior level talent who provide a package of services that is designed by his experience to deliver measurable results that build increased market recognition and contribute directly to increased sales.
Prior to launching Communication Strategy Group, Arthur directed internal communications and public relations, including executive visibility platforms and product launches, for Symbol Technologies, a $1.5 billion B2B division of Motorola. At Symbol he directed the global communications team and achieved more than a 200 percent increase in year-over-year positive brand media coverage.
At global public relations firm, Neale-May & Partners + GlobalFluency, Arthur provided communications strategy, media training and editorial services to a wide range of clients that spanned several industry sectors from technology to financial services. Prior to joining Neale-May Partners, Arthur spent a dozen years directing editorial and production teams at award-winning print and interactive media, including VARBusiness, Home Office Computing, Small Business Computing, Communications Week and Windows magazine.
Arthur has been quoted by business print media and appeared on CNNfn. He is a co-author of Networking Windows NT that has been re-versioned and re-issued in many languages under the respected John Wiley Sons imprint. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Communications Media from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia.
Dan Nainan got his start by taking a comedy class to get over the nervousness of speaking on stage. In his job as a demo engineer with Intel Corporation, Dan toured the world with CEO Andy Grove, demonstrating the latest technology for audiences numbering into the thousands.
After leaving Intel to pursue comedy full time, Dan has toured as a feature act with Robert Schimmel and Russell Peters. Dan has appeared on network television including “Last Comic Standing” as well as in feature films, on radio and in an Apple “Get a Mac” commercial. He just completed a comedy tour of India, and he performed for Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida.
An early riser, Dan does not smoke, drink or do drugs and does not own a television. He speaks multiple languages and plays keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and cello. He also enjoys extreme sports such as bungee jumping, skydiving, skiing off of cliffs, scuba diving on shipwrecks and rollerblading backwards down stairs.
Derrick M. Guest, CEO and Co-Owner of Griot’s Roll Film Production & Services Inc. Mr. Guest has been nominated three years in a row for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Project Enterprise, the last two years he made the top ten. He recently won the 2010 Video Marketing Contest from British Airways Face of Opportunity where Mr. Guest and his company were flown to the UK February 2011 to network with other entrepreneurs to build and grow their business. Derrick M. Guest was a panelist for the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce “Business Plan Contest on Marketing and Media” and on the panel discussion “Improve Your Brand By Using Video On-line”. Mr. Guest has just recently created the Marketing Mogul Seminar Series for business owners looking to improve their marketing plan.
