We’re all slaving in front of our 14″ notebooks, 10″ tablets and 3″ smartphone screens pecking out our social media messages – for some of us it’s working. But you know and I know that in many case we’re just yelling at our customers.
One way to really make social media work for your business is by integrated social media into your email application.
I was using Gist and was impressed with how I could see the social media connections of strangers and people I know – from within my email client.
Many of you are using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft’s Outlook Social Connector is a great tool to bring your social media networks right within outlook.
A recent Microsoft blog post gave some interesting stats:
25 percent of respondents use social media to communicate and build relationships with colleagues. This number went as high as 37% for the 18-24 age group.
19 percent of people surveyed agreed that social networking has helped them meet people online who have turned into valuable business relationships offline.
- 89 percent said their use of social media for personal communication increased or stayed the same during the past year.
