Email Is Great But Often Stifles Communication: Video Conference Can Help

Our virtual team is spread across the world, with editorial support in St. Louis, web development in Philippines and I could go on. While email is great, at times I wish I could see my team or even pick up the phone (or use Vonage’s neat app for International phone calls) and  hear their voice – even better would be a video conference solution.

Intelligent LLC is an IT service and solutions provider founded in 2002 uses video conferencing (from Vu TelePresence) to grow its business and in particular establish relationships with clients in the Middle East.

Traveling to the international markets Intelligent LLC serves as flying from Washington to the Middle East for interviews was too costly an option. Yet, they still need to hire local Saudi Talent. Hiring local Saudi talent isn’t’ just about giving Intelligent LLC a stronghold in the market, but it’s about understanding the culture and developing relationships to create a sense of community.

According to Founder, President and CEO of Intelligent LLC Mohamed Abuagla “Telepresence has been the most effective mode of communication for our company because nothing is ‘lost in translation.’ Body language can be a powerful communications tool that we have found to help strengthen our customer relationships.”

While email is great, if you have partners and/or long term relationships in places where frequent air travel might not be feasible, consider a video conference solution. You’ll not only save money in air tickets but you’ll find that your relationships will be stronger and better.
