Need A Tablet? Don’t Buy An iPad On Impulse.

Sure, the iPad is the top selling tablet on the market and for good reason – it is well designed and full of great apps.

HOWEVER, there are other tablets on the market that might be better for your particular business use.

I was in a taxi early on Monday (as in 5:30am) and noticed the taxi driver had a Motorola Galaxy installed. His company uses it to manage dispatches and payments.

RIM’s PlayBook, Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet and tables from many other vendors including Toshiba, Acer and many others are worth looking at with your local technology consultant.

HP recently announced the HP Slate 2 Tablet PC with expanded touch capabilities, enhanced multitasking performance and embedded security, providing added flexibility to mobile business users. The company also announced a new notebook PC targeting business, education and government customers.

The HP Slate 2 Tablet PC provides instant deployment for business and vertical markets such as education, healthcare, government and retail, where jobs frequently take users away from a traditional desk. With a full-featured Microsoft Windows® environment, the 1.5 pound HP Slate 2 Tablet PC provides professionals with the flexibility to create, edit and review content on one highly mobile and lightweight device.

So, the iPad is great, but there are many other tablets based on Windows or Android operating systems that might be even better for your business.
