Survey Results: Twitter, Viral Videos, Workspace Clutter

check boxHere are the lastest survey results regarding our three most recent surveys: Twitter, viral videos, and workspace clutter. Sadly, this will be the last of the survey results as we will be terminating that feature on our sites. The weekly surveys did not receive as much traction as we had hoped.

On a brighter note, will be having a free giveaway of five Premium Doodle Business accounts. Details to come, so be on the lookout! Until then, here are the survey results:

Twitter Survey: How does your business use Twitter (select all that apply)?

To Share Expertise – 38%

To Find Leads – 46%

To Expand Network- 46%

To Run Special Deals/Promotions – 31%

To Interact with the Competition – 23%

To Interact with Customers – 69%

We don’t have a Twitter account – 38%

Analysis: There are many ways to use Twitter, but something to keep in mind is that over 60 percent of the people who follow brands only do so for special deals and promotions. If you aren’t yet doing that, it might be something to consider. Since over a third of our readers don’t yet use Twitter, going over specific uses for the social media site might not be a bad idea.


Viral Video Survey: How often do you use online video to promote your business?

Very Often – We have a YouTube channel and post regularly. – 0%

Sometimes, such as when we have a new product or promotion. – 25%

Never. Don’t need it. 1 25%

Haven’t yet, but I am considering the idea. – 50%

Analysis: Producing videos can be daunting task. Not a whole lot of people have the confidence or time to do it themselves, and hiring a video production company can get very pricey. We’ve previously feature a DIY video service, but perhaps we could also go into how video marketing could be more accessible to small businesses, and how video marketing could be used besides for the purpose of making a viral video.


Workspace Clutter Survey: Our desks and work spaces can get messy. What’s the one thing that adds clutter to your desk or work space?

USB cables – 16%

Other sorts of cords and wires – 16%

Papers – 47%

Lighting fixtures – 5%

Offices supplies such as pens and paper clips – 5%

Nothing. My desk is neat and organized. – 11%

Analysis: It shouldn’t be a surprise that technology could also be a solution to your workspace clutter problems. Okay, maybe it can’t quite fix those who have a problem with pens and paper clips, but we could certainly take time to address the cords and the papers, and even the lighting fixtures.
