If you are still breaking your arm sliding a big manual credit card machine or using paper to scratch the raised numbers from a credit card you need to stop. Intuit’s GoPayment and Square make it VERY easy for small businesses to process credit card transactions while on the road through their phones or tablets. I tried out Intuit’s solution and it works quite well. You just attach their little credit card reader (which is often free) to the audio jack of your tablet or phone and swipe, using the accompanying app.
Intuit announced some improvements to their GoPayment solution and writes in their press release:
GoPayment helps small businesses and anyone who sells products or services never miss a sale by easily processing credit cards wherever they go on their smartphone or tablet. GoPayment is ideal for mobile retailers or service providers such as photographers, hair stylists, locksmiths, and landscapers. It’s affordable with a free app and card reader with competitive, pay-as-you-go pricing.
With GoPayment users can ring up sales quickly by creating and selling from a list of frequently sold items. It’s then easy to process payments within seconds while protecting sensitive credit card data with the latest encryption chip technology. For added protection and professionalism, customers can sign to approve transactions and ask to receive a text or e-mail receipt with a map of where the purchase took place.
