I remember the days when you had to open up every single site in your bookmarks if you wanted to track news and new content. Then came the RSS and shortly after many social networks. Web 2.0 gave an opportunity for everyone to publish content, which gave readers more sources to read from than ever.
That was the exact problem XYDO (pronounced as “zy-doo”) realized. In the summer of 2011, XYDO launched as a service which combined all of your social sources, prioritized them based on your interest and showed them in your profile page. This was useful, but uneffective. That’s when they’ve decided to pivot to a B2B model; XYDO is now a news based social network that helps small businesses and non-profits engage more effectively with their audiences through content marketing.
Why would you want to use it in your business? XYDO will find relevant content relevant to your business and interesting to your audience. It actually works as a newsletter editor, finding the right content, organizing an email newsletter and sending it to your customers.
To try out XYDO, you can apply for a free 30-day trial. If you happen to like it (and you probably will), they’ve got some great pricing options based only on number of subscribers to your newsletter, ranging from $250 per month to $1,000 per month.
Eric Roach, CEO of XYDO agreed to answer some question for Smallbiztechnology.com’s own Ramon Ray:
Does Xydo supplement or replace a service like Constant Contact or Vertical Response?
Neither. XYDO is the absolute point of the spear for a company’s email marketing efforts. Regardless of whether the email is sent by our customer’s ESP or XYDO’s infrastructure, we ensure that the email itself is fundamentally more engaging than anything else our customer has sent.
Who is Xydo NOT for? Regarding small businesses who would best be served by Xydo?
Our current customers represent almost every major vertical, from molecular genealogy to major league sports to small business lending and children’s fashion. Customers’ click through rates have increased 5-8x across the board, regardless of company size. Any small business looking to increase customer engagement, build brand equity, and ultimately drive profits from their email list would find tremendous value in the XYDO platform, but we’ve specifically seen phenomenal results in e-commerce and retail.
So I have an email list and Xydo pulls together relevant content for them (based on themes I pick…I presume?) compiles it into a newsletter and sends it off?
In essence, yes. We work with our customers to develop an audience profile including demographics and interests, using that profile to generate content from the XYDO platform. 24 hours prior to each send, we deliver a production draft for customer approval, at which point articles can be added or removed. 24 hours after the send we deliver full analytics reports including social and lead scoring metrics.
Have you tried out XYDO yet? If you’re unhappy with your current newsletter campaign or you’re planning to start one, give XYDO a try. It actually works, bringing you CTR (Click Through Rate) increase and your information will be easily shared across social networks. In short, it’ll make sure to get a bigger reach to your current and potential customers, while providing the content that they want to see!
