I am happy to announce that I am an employee of Infusionsoft, the all-in-one sales and marketing software company for small businesses.
Infusionsoft is based in Gilbert, Arizona and I have been hired as their Regional Development Manager (RDM) New York, to build awareness, generate leads and ultimately drive sales of Infusionsoft in the New York City / North Jersey area.
I feel like one of those cool guys who are one of the early employees at a hot Silicon Valley or Silicon Alley company! Well I am…except this hot company is in Gilbert (near Phoenix), Arizona!
Infusionsoft is growing rapidly and plans to add nearly 100 more employees by the end of the year. (If you you have a calling (not a job – but a calling) to serve small businesses – check out this link for their openings). There were more than 20 new hires in my training class alone.

It’s pretty interesting how this all came together.
I was at InfusionsCon (Infusionsoft’s customer event) this past April 2012. I attended to cover the event and to speak. During the event I realized that Infusionsoft would be a great tool for my business so I signed up and determined to change how I was marketing my own business. Using Infusionsoft is more than buying the software but it’s also changing the way you do sales and marketing.
A few weeks after Infusioncon, Infusionsoft had an opening for a Regional Development Manager NY and I was sharing this opportunity with some of my friends in PR/marketing who I thought could best fill the role. I quietly do this pro bono “head hunting” for small business marketing/pr/biz dev/comm jobs from time to time.
After a few email exchanges and talks with Infusionsoft – I was hired. Go figure!
So why Infusionsoft?
What attracted me most to Infusionsoft were three simple things:
First – It is the company’s purpose: We help small businesses succeed. The company lives and breathes small business success.
Second – Many of the employees were small business owners (or worked for a small business) prior to joining Infusionsoft. In fact many, like me, still own their own businesses. Infusionsoft encourages its employees to be entrepreneurial. This encouragement is evidenced in that I have Infusionsoft’s full support to own and manage Smallbiztechnology.com.
Third – I’ve been personally very impressed by the executive management team http://www.infusionsoft.com/management-team and in particular the entrepreneurial journey of Clate Mask and Scott Martineau from startup-struggling entrepreneurs – to well on the way to building a billion dollar (but very entrepreneurial focused) company. When I think of the supervisors over me in the org chart, even they, have successful entrepreneurial backgrounds!
Infusionsoft has 9,000 (and growing) small business customers representing 32,000 users in 62 countries worldwide and I’m excited to be joining a company that has a shared passion for helping small businesses succeed.
I am most looking forward to educating small businesses in the New York City and North New Jersey areas about how they can create a SYSTEM for building life long and loyal customers. I’ll be hosting a LOT of fun, energized and information rich events ! (If you’ve been to any of my events before – YOU KNOW they’re fun and informative).
What happens to Smallbiztechnology.com?
Smallbiztechnology.com will remain the same as it’s always been, a great resources for small businesses.
