Social media is exploding – we’re all diving in and Tweeting, Liking and generating ‘content’ like crazy. But there’s one problem, some of us are no longer the only persons hitting “re-tweet” on our corporate accounts? Some of you now have 3 staff who post on Facebok. The tools you started out with were most likely designed for just one person – you’re outgrowing things.
HootSuite (social media management company) knows this and has a solution that grows with you – announced today – HootSuite teams. They’ve released HootSuite Teams, a tool aimed at serious business collaboration.
According to their press release, Teams offers an industrial-grade solution for global enterprises and small businesses.
In April 2009, Free People, an Urban Outfitters Inc. company, had a single Facebook Page maintained by one specialist. “It was basically just for responding to customer questions,” says Jed Paulson, Free People’s Director of Marketing. Today, Free People has more than 70 Facebook Pages for their stores, with over 150 employees authorized to contribute content on everything from product, customer service, merchandising and store promotions. “When you have so many hands in the pot, it’s a challenge to ensure the posts stay on-brand but are also unique to each store’s personality,” Paulson says.
LESSON LEARNED: If you are using a tool that’s made for your business 5 years ago, upgrade or get rid of it and use a tool that meets the needs of your GROWING business.
