Remember Intuit that company whose QuickBooks and TurboTax are some of the most popular business and consumer products around? Well they’re quickly ushering a new generation of low cost and/or free apps to help small businesses succeed.
This latest Intuit app MoneyDue, is a free app that turns business appointments into payment reminders on iPhone and iPod Touch devices, accordingly to Intuit’s press release. This app from the Intuit PaymentNetwork uses the calendar feature on the iPhone or iPod Touch to convert calendar appointments into payment reminders, and gives small business owners the ability to see payments owed and payments received through their calendar appointments.
As more and more business professionals use their mobile devices BUSINESS FOCUSED apps are going to be an increasingly important part of business productivity and day to day business management solutions.
The market who needs these solutions the most are local service providers who might not be as tech savvy as their larger small business brethren and since they’re often solo entrepreneurs they need even MORE every advantage in their tech arsenal.
While big software such as QuickBooks are important, very light apps and applications like MoneyDue are going to be the new norm.
I’m surprised Freshbooks (which I use) has not come out with something like this for their customers.
