New Email InBox Filtering System Uses Icons To Visualize and Sort Email: PhilterIt

There are lots (thousands?) of new apps and online software applications created every day it seems. I come across a lot of them. Here’s one to help you organize your inbox.

PhilterIt gives your bulding inbox a visual view of incoming emails. While initially the focus appears to be on helping you filter and visually better see which “brands”  are emailing you (so perfect consumers getting lots of ofers) PhilterIt also nicely lets you add email filters from important individuals (or organizations) in your professional life and see this communication represented with icons.

I won’t go into details as you can watch the video below or here and check it out youself.

Interesting—text-to-images is such a conceptual leap, but I think the rise of Pinterest and image search should help it. My favorite filtering service for Gmail is Sanebox, which puts email it deems less important into a @sanelater folder.
