Symform Upgrades 200GB Free Cloud Storage Offering

– First and Only Global Peer-to-Peer Cloud Storage Network Gives 10GB Free with Download and Up to 200GB Free with Contribution to the Network –

Seattle, Wash. – Symform, a revolutionary secure cloud storage and backup service, today announced an update to its market-leading 200GB free cloud storage offering. Starting today, all business users receive 10GB of free cloud storage immediately upon downloading the Symform software, and can receive up to 200GB of free cloud storage with contribution to the network.  As the first and only global peer-to-peer network for cloud storage and backup, Symform is able to provide its customers an unrivaled amount of free cloud storage and the lowest flat fee pricing.

While many cloud providers are now offering two to 10GB free, Symform is the only service to offer up to 200GB. Plus, users can go beyond 200GB by inviting friends and colleagues to join the network. For each invited friend that joins the Symform Network, the user receives an additional 10GB of cloud storage.  At any time, users can upgrade to a paid account to receive unlimited cloud storage for a low flat monthly fee, starting at just $3.50 per user.

“We continue to disrupt this market with revolutionary economics and by making cloud storage and backup easier, more secure and faster,” said Praerit Garg, co-founder and president of Symform.  “This is why our network is growing at a record pace, with users in 46 countries and billions of data fragments securely stored in the network.”

Unlike traditional data center-based storage, Symform has no expensive, centralized infrastructure, but leverages excess local disk space nodes contributed by customers to its peer-to-peer global network. Users contribute an equal amount of local storage to the Symform Network in exchange for free cloud storage. Before any data leaves the source device, Symform divides the data, encrypts it with military-grade encryption and strong key management, further subdivides the encrypted data into fragments, adds redundancy, and then distributes the fragments across the global network.

Industry experts have validated that this approach is far more secure than traditional storage methods.  Local contribution devices store encrypted fragments from other network members with no degradation or threat to their system or privacy.

To take advantage of the Symform free cloud storage offer, simply download the software and select folders for backing up to the cloud.

New Research Says Most Small Business Websites Are Not Mobile-Friendly

74% of those polled have not designed a version of their website for viewing on smartphones and 86% have not designed a version for viewing on tablets

Nottingham, UK – Small businesses and sole traders are lagging behind when it comes to mobile-friendly websites, according to new research on business websites. The poll of 400 self-employed professionals and small business owners – commissioned by creative software developer Serif – revealed that 74% have not designed a version of their website for viewing on smartphones and 86% for viewing on tablets such as the iPad.

With 84% of smartphone owners now regularly using the internet on their phones to access information, firms must adopt new and changing technology. Most are not though. Only one in ten small businesses believe it is necessary to have a mobile-ready version of their website and, worryingly, more than 40% do not even know how their site appears on a smartphone or tablet.

“It’s essential for organizations to have a website if they want to create the right impression, engage with customers and boost business,” says Gary Bates, Managing Director at Serif. “A branded website adds perceived professionalism, which makes it one of the most effective marketing tools, and a matching mobile-ready version adds even more credibility – essential for keeping existing customers and attracting new ones. But, many do not recognize the need to create versions compatible with different devices.”

A staggering 41% of small businesses would ignore optimizing their website for viewing on smartphones and tablets if they thought it would be too difficult or expensive to do. Some are even further behind the times and do not have a website at all: a separate poll by Serif found that over 40% do not have an online presence – despite the fact most consumers make purchasing decisions on the web.

“Hiring a web designer is often too expensive for many companies, but some web design software offers an affordable alternative and helps businesses adapt to the latest technology. WebPlus X6 eases the creative and financial burden, as there is no need for users to learn to write code or find budget to hire a specialist. The program allows those with regular office computer skills to quickly and easily create professional-looking websites – whether designed from scratch or by using a template – that can be viewed on devices from regular computers and laptops to smartphones and tablets.”

In addition to the simple drag-and-drop approach in WebPlus, users are also given the freedom to customize everything on their website. This includes the site structure, colors, page layout, graphics and text, plus interactive features such as forms, photo galleries, podcasts, YouTube™ videos, blogs, forums, RSS feeds and online booking. WebPlus X6 is compatible with Windows 7/Vista/XP and costs just $99.99. It is available directly from Serif and includes free 30 days hosting with sub-domain web address.
