Mozilla FireFox's uphill battle

Mozilla Firefox is a VERY good web browser - and in many respects much better than Microsoft's Internet Explorer. HOWEVER, most web sites are compatible with MS IE. When you visit some web sites using Firefox, pages do not display properly or at all.
Even though I use Firefox, MS IE is a back up for those times when certain web sites do not display as they should.
The Firefox team knows about this problem and is working on solutions in two ways. CNet reports that to attack the compatibility problem, Mozilla plans to hire new staff to ferret out IE-only sites and advocate standards-based coding methods to their
authors.
In addition Firefox has a program that detects web sites it might not work with and attempts to display them properly by going into an "MS IE" compatible mode. This mode works slower but it works.
